The COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing lockdown of Singapore and other countries have raised deep questions about the place of art in a newly configured world. With social distancing of varying degrees in place for the immediate future and perhaps for longer, has the meaning and relevance of the arts changed, and in what way? Does the answer differ for each art form? What should artists do to embrace, resist or adapt to the consequences of this crisis in terms of policy, their practice and their sustainability? What can we learn from the crises of the past, and what does the present one bode for the future of the arts? This roundtable brings together leading artists to reflect on these challenging issues.Click here for the Programme and Speakers’ Biodata.
