Accommodation Options at LKYSPP

Most LKY School students choose to stay at College Green, which is about 10-15 minutes’ walk from the Bukit Timah campus. If you would like to stay on-campus, we would highly recommend for you to include College Green as your first choice. If you would like to consider accommodation outside of the campus, you can refer here.

The College Green Hostel is within walking distance to the LKYSPP campus. Accommodation is on a shared basis: a maximum of four students will be assigned to one housing unit, which comprises four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living/dining area.

Each student will be assigned one bedroom that is partially furnished. White goods (e.g. airconditioners, refrigerator, stove, washing machine) and basic furniture (i.e. beds with mattress, sofa and dining table and chairs) are provided in each housing unit. However, personal items such as towels, bed sheets, pillows, blankets and pillowcases are not provided. Therefore, you might consider bringing some of these items from home. Alternatively, you could purchase them from stores in Singapore.

Unfortunately, family members cannot be accommodated at College Green. There are, however, very limited housing units for families at the NUS Prince George’s Park Residences (PGPR) on the Kent Ridge Campus. Allocation of these Graduate Student Apartments (GSA) is not guaranteed.

If you opt for a GSA at PGPR, you should take note of the following:

  • The maximum occupancy in a GSA is 2 adults and 2 children (The child’s age should not exceed 12 years old during the period of stay).
  • If you have been awarded a scholarship or grants, financial arrangements will be communicated to you directly.
  • It is important that you submit all the supporting documents required when applying for PGPR accommodation. Any omission will result in your application being declined.
  • If you are unsuccessful in your application for PGPR housing, you will need to make alternative arrangements, such as exploring offcampus accommodation options.

LKY School students can also apply for a place at the NUS Prince George’s Park Residences (PGPR) and University Town (UTown) student residences located at the Kent Ridge Campus.

You may refer to their website for more information regarding accommodation at the Kent Ridge Campus. Details such as hostel options, hostel rates and application process can be found in the website. However, we would like to highlight that the halls and the residential colleges are primarily used to house the undergraduate students so the applications to those accommodation options are highly competitive.

There is an Internal Shuttle Bus service that provides free transportation between the Bukit Timah Campus (where LKYSPP is located) and the Kent Ridge Campus. The journey takes about 30 to 40 minutes. Click here for more information on the Internal Shuttle bus service.

If you are a selffunded student, you may also choose to rent accommodation from the private housing market. However, please note that the School does not provide support for accommodation matters in such cases. Students who wish to consider these options are advised to thoroughly research the process, legalities, terms, conditions and practices of the local rental market. The following links provide helpful tips and important information for those seeking private rentals:

There is an application fee of S$26.75 payable when you apply for all NUS accommodations.

For UTown or PGPR applicants who have been offered accommodation, please note that the offer is only confirmed for Semester 1 and Semester 2. Towards the end of Semester 1, you will be asked to pay an acceptance fee of S$200 (nonreimbursable) to secure your accommodation for Semester 2.  The acceptance fee will be used to offset your first month rental after you have moved in.  If you require accommodation during the vacation period, you will need to apply for Vacation Stay.
