Public Policy Fellowship

The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) Public Policy Fellowship is a flexible one-year professional development programme for senior policymakers in the Singapore Public Service, focusing on:

  • Personal introductions between policymakers and LKYSPP/NUS academics and researchers to establish mutual understanding and trust.
  • Exchange of insights and ideas, with a clear joint focus on finding solutions to policy questions posed by policymakers.

Who should apply?

The Public Policy Fellowship is designed to support the professional development of senior public service officers, such as Deputy Secretaries, Senior Directors, Directors, or their equivalent.

Why should you apply?

The Public Policy Fellowship offers a uniquely powerful opportunity for problem-solving on policy issues, professional development, network building, and access to expertise.

Some of the benefits include:

  • Unrivalled access to academic thought leaders in their respective fields.
  • Joint exploration of rigorous and multi-disciplinary solutions to policy issues.
  • Challenge to thinking.
  • Ongoing privileged access to academics and researchers.
  • Access to exclusive Fellowship events.

How does it work?

LKYSPP Public Policy Fellows will be asked to come up with three to five policy questions. Thereafter, LKYSPP will arrange one-to-one meetings with selected academics/researchers in LKYSPP/NUS based on the relevance of their work to the policy questions, as well as for the heterogeneity of perspectives and multidisciplinary insights they bring.

Each Fellow’s experience is inimitable, and guided by the policy questions and opportunities the Fellow chooses to develop.

Enrolment fees

The participation fee for the Public Policy Fellowship is priced at S$1,000, payable at the end of the programme.

Membership in the programme will be kept to a small number to ensure that Fellows receive full attention and a tailored schedule of meetings with academics/researchers crafted by LKYSPP in consultation with the Fellows.
