IPS News Fellow - Nigel Chua

Nigel CHUA is an Assistant Editor at Mothership and co-leads its Firsthand team to produce longform original content exploring Singapore and Singaporeans’ issues, stories, and perspectives.

Nigel will be exploring the topic of hawker culture during his stint under the IPS News Fellowship. Sparked by a keen personal interest in the eclectic hawker dish of Satay Bee Hoon, Nigel hopes to find answers to the question: “Is hawker food in Singapore becoming commodified?”
