The Institute of Policy studies conducted a study on Singaporeans and false information. Phase 1 of the study on Singaporeans’ susceptibility to false information was published in December 2020. Phase 2, comprising 50 self-confrontation interviews with different types of information users, examined people’s immunity against false information (e.g., their news-seeking practices and information verification techniques). Phase 3, which involved more than 1,000 respondents in a survey and experiment, analysed the effectiveness of an existing intervention (i.e., National Library Board’s S.U.R.E. framework) and which delivery (presentation) modality was most effective.
