Singapore Perspectives 2006 "Going Glocal: Being Singaporean In A Globalised World"

In a globalised world that seems to favour the bigger, more powerful nations, how does a small city-state like Singapore survive – and even thrive? The answer is to become glocal, simultaneously local and global.

But what does glocalisation mean in practice and how can Singapore bring it about? These are some of the key questions that be put under the spotlight at the Singapore Perspectives 2006 conference. The one-day conference in January will feature exciting speakers including Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, Dr Catherine Lim, Mr Ho Kwon Ping and Mr Rodolfo Severino.

Singapore Perspectives is the flagship event of the Institute of Policy Studies. Held yearly, the conference looks back on the past year in Singapore, discusses what is in store for the year ahead, and offers insights into the key trends and developments that affect Singapore.
