POPS (1) – Resilience in Economic Crisis

February 2009

A New Survey Series

The Institute of Policy Studies is launching a new series of short surveys on issues of public interest with its first round titled, ‘POPS (1): Resilience in the Economic Crisis’. The series seeks to provide timely snap-shots of how stakeholders are affected, would be affected by, or perceive the impact of the policy area being investigated.

POPS (1) was conducted between 16 to 26 February 2009, shortly after the 2009 Government Budget was announced and debated in Parliament. It surveyed 817 Singapore Residents, 21 years and above, using quota sampling, on how they have been coping with the current economic crisis and how they might continue to cope if the crisis were to worsen.
