The Community Fellows - Nurhidayah Binte Sazali

Nurhidayah Binte SazaliNURHIDAYAH Binte Sazali has been a Community Connector with South Central Community Family Service Centre since 2018. She enjoys finding fun and interactive ways to engage other mothers in the community, being part of a community support system that contributes towards the well-being of others and mobilizing local assets to build the community. As a stay-home mother with 5 young children, she strongly believes in giving back to community and taking time to listen to the stories and experiences of others, so that nobody is left behind. In her 4 years of contributing, she has also discovered a lot about herself and hopes to create other life-giving experiences for others.  Nurhidayah’s journey of being a community connector has been featured in The Straits Times.

Nurhidayah will conduct a community-based participatory research project with low-income mothers of young children from the Lengkok Bahru, Henderson, Redhill and Beo Crescent area. Together they will identify a shared problem and conduct research, before developing solutions. The project will also focus on training the mothers to develop research, facilitation and organizational skills.
