The Ngee Ann Kongsi – Policy Experimentation

IPS Policy Lab is a novel initiative which aims to address gaps in the country’s social programmes, by conducting social policy experiments on the ground that advance solutions which can be scaled up and applied on a national level. It builds crucial missing linkages between academics, the non-profit social sector and policymakers, translating their work into more impactful and effective change for everyday Singaporeans. These direct interventions through small-scale evaluations also act as test beds, serving as proof-of-concepts for larger-scale policy implementation. Due to the measurable results of this practice-orientated policy development approach, Policy Lab’s programmes are expected to have quantifiable, far-reaching and meaningful benefits for society.
