
The Ministry of Digital Development and Information and the Institute of Policy Studies will jointly hold the Forum on Fostering Child-Safe Digital Environments on Social Media on Friday, 17 July 2026.
With the rapid evolution of today’s digital landscape, building child-safe online spaces has become an increasingly complex challenge. This forum will comprise a half-day programme, and aims to bring together global regulators, community and industry partners as well as academics and experts to drive meaningful conversations on shaping a safer digital future for children in the social media age.
Mr Christopher Gee, Deputy Director (Research) at the Institute of Policy Studies, will deliver the opening address, and
Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister for Digital Development and Information, will deliver the closing remarks at the Forum. The forum’s panels will feature Ms Sarah Fox (Acting Executive Manager, Strategy, Engagement and Research, eSafety Commissioner, Australia); Mr Ben Chua (Chief Executive Officer, YouthTechSG); Dr Chew Han Ei (Associate Director (Impact), Singapore Management University); Mr Edward Wee (Director, Online Communications Office, Infocomm Media Development Authority Singapore); Mr Brent Carey (Chief Executive Officer, Netsafe New Zealand); Dr Natalie Pang (Associate Professor and Head, Department of Communications & New Media, National University of Singapore); and Mr James Tan (Chief Executive Officer, TOUCH Community Services).
