The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) invites you to participate in a Facebook live forum where we will discuss how Singapore has responded to the outbreak of COVID-19.
Four panellists who are experts in their respective domains will discuss on the Facebook Live platform how the country has dealt with the medical, economic, media and social impact of the health emergency.
Hosted at the Facebook Singapore studio, we will address the following questions:
- What is the latest knowledge about COVID-19 that helps us define how it continues to be a threat to Singapore?
- How do we assess Singapore’s social resilience in its response to this threat?
- Specifically, how do we assess the response of the different parts of Singapore – government, people, business?
- What are the repercussions of those responses, as a national community and a global city?
The forum allows for real time interaction with:
- Associate Professor Vernon Lee, Adjunct, Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, National University of Singapore & Director (Communicable Diseases), Communicable Diseases Division, Ministry of Health;
- Mr Barnabas Gan, Economist, Global Economics & Markets Research, Group Finance & Corporate Service, United Overseas Bank Limited;
- Dr Carol Soon, Senior Research Fellow, IPS; and

It will be moderated by Dr Gillian Koh, Deputy Director (Research), IPS.
