The FRN forum is an initiative to bring together a network of academics, researchers and policy-makers to engage in regular discussions on family research through a series of closed-door sessions.
This forum focuses on coping with life after divorce. Research in developed Western societies describe the significant challenges faced by single parents post-divorce: financial and care-giving pressures, increased psychological stress and lower levels of social and community support as compared with women of comparable socio-economic status but who are living with their spouses. The presentations at the forum will examine the trends and statistics related to divorce in Singapore, and consider the different strategies and resources that divorcees employ to cope with the challenges arising after the divorce.
Beyond information sharing, a major goal of the forum is to stimulate ideas for research as well as policies and programmes to assist stakeholders in their work. We look forward to your active participation in the forum.
As this is intended to be a closed-door forum, information and views disclosed and/or shared at the forum shall strictly not be disseminated, reported, published and/or shared in any media (including but not limited to social media such as blogging or tweeting) and/or in any form or manner whatsoever.
