Manager (Field Operations) for Institute of Policy Studies - Social Lab

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is a policy research think-tank in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. IPS is looking to hire a Manager (Research Operations) for the Social Lab. 

The person will be required to take charge of projects assigned and be responsible for both the fieldwork and data management aspects. The individual needs to be self-motivated, well-organised and work well under a demanding or fast changing environment. 


The job scope includes:

• Managing projects and stakeholders (including various ministries in Singapore)
• Recruiting, training and supervising field interviewers
• Coordinating interviewers’ workload and managing performance
• Preparing training materials and conducting training sessions
• Ensuring high-quality data
• Reporting progress to clients
• Staying within budget and timelines
• Safeguarding the organization's reputation
• Taking disciplinary and remedial actions when necessary
• Developing and maintaining workflow systems

Applicants must:

• Minimum Degree holder, preferably with experience in market research operations.
• Prior experience in managing, running or handling of projects is an advantage.
• Prior experience in training of full-time, part-time and free-lance staff.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to keep to tight deadlines
• Excellent leadership qualities and ability to motivate teams
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines with attention to detail
• Strong computer literacy – working knowledge of MS Office applications is a must
