Is ASEAN ready for business? How can the region unlock its full economic potential through smarter policies and a stronger business environment?
The private sector is the engine for economic growth – fuelling job creation, investment, and innovation. However, the World Bank’s new flagship report, Business Ready (B-READY), reveals a startling reality: the world is not business-ready. While ASEAN has exhibited a relatively conducive business environment, each assessed economy has much room to improve in 10 key areas of the business environment, from business location and financial services to taxation, international trade, market competition, business insolvency, and more.
Replacing the former Doing Business report, B-READY offers an improved and more comprehensive look at the global business landscape, analysing 1,200 indicators that track the lifecycle of firms. B-READY serves as a compass for evidence-based policy reforms that empower economic growth and support a more dynamic private sector in ASEAN. Join us in this event to gain insights from prominent economists, policymakers, and business leaders. A networking session will follow the main event.
