Focus Group Discussions for Seniors on the 2025 General Election

FGD for GE2025_poster

[Registration is now closed for all focus group discussions]

The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) of the National University of Singapore is conducting academic research on what Singaporeans think of the general election (GE) that was held on 3 May 2025.

As part of that research, IPS is holding three focus groups discussions conducted in English, Mandarin and Malay with Singapore citizens of 60 to 80 years old on the GE.

Participants do not require special knowledge to participate. They will be asked to share what shaped their voting decision. These could be policy issues, the character of the candidates and parties, the information they received and how they received it. They will also be asked about their views on the outcome and the election system. They will also fill in a questionnaire about these.

Participation is voluntary. The session will be audio-recorded. Participants will be anonymous. The reports will be written without identifying who the participants were. Participants will not be asked who they voted for.

A token of appreciation of $100 will be presented to participants after the discussion.

Registration will be based on the researchers’ selection to meet the profile requirements (age, ethnicity, and linguistic background) of the project.

If you are interested in participating in these sessions, we would be grateful if you can contact Dr Amy Phua at decb64_cGh1YW15QG51cy5lZHUuc2c=_decb64 or at 96616475 (HP).
