The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) and Tote Board invite you to a learning journey with Community Circles UK (https://www.community-circles.co.uk) as part of the Transforming the Non-Profit Sector (TNPS) series of events.
Community Circles is a community care model that has been developed and implemented in the UK, whereby an individual’s community contacts are mobilised to share tasks that can help the individual achieve a defined goal. Members of a circle meet every few weeks with a volunteer Circle facilitator to keep things on track and make sure that conversations turn into actions. This model has the potential to reduce caregiver burden and strengthen social capital, and we have invited local non-profit leaders to discuss how this concept might work in Singapore.
From the conversations held during the TNPS Opening Seminar in May 2021, we understand that non-profit organisations increasingly engage in research and collect evidence to inform their programmes but research interests and capabilities are uneven. This learning journey aims to encourage local practitioners to engage with new ideas and practices, as well as foster greater knowledge sharing and collaboration in the non-profit sector.
