The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) and Tote Board invite you to a local learning journey as part of the Transforming the Non-Profit Sector (TNPS) series of events. We will have local agencies share their experiences conducting various forms of research, building research capability and the value they see in research for non-profit organisations and for professional practice.
From the conversations held during the TNPS Opening Seminar in May 2021, we understand that non-profit organisations increasingly engage in research and collect evidence to inform their programmes but research interests and capabilities are uneven. This learning journey will help address the following questions: What are challenges and opportunities of running a research unit in a non-profit organisation? What is the value of different types of research for various non-profit actors? How can practitioners seek mutual support and build capabilities in communities of practice? How can we work with different public and private stakeholders to build a conducive ecosystem for non-profit research?
TNPS is a three-year partnership between IPS and Tote Board that aims to enhance the capabilities of non-profit organisations as well as support public-private-people partnerships. The theme for this year is Using Research and Evidence for Social Impact. The flagship event will be an annual conference in October. In the lead up to the conference, we have curated learning journeys by local and overseas practitioners to appreciate innovations and best practices.
