Singapore Perspectives is a flagship conference of the Institute of Policy Studies. It is a platform for thought leaders to engage an audience of policy makers, business leaders, civil society activists and other interested members of the public on critical issues facing Singapore. Its key objective is to stimulate lively discussions about the challenges the country is likely to face in the year ahead, while being cognisant of broader and longer-term trends that will affect us too.The theme of Singapore Perspectives 2005 is ‘People and Partnerships’. The first presentation of the Domestic Politics, and Economics sessions provide a survey of the landscape at the macro-level. They will deal with issues of electoral politics and macroeconomic strategies for growth. The second presentation of these sessions focus on what it will mean for the people, at the micro-level. They will discuss the implications for jobs, our daily livelihood, and social cohesion. The Special Focus Session is on Foreign Affairs. We hope it will throw up ideas for strengthening our ties and partnerships at the government-to-government, and people-to-people levels with our neighbours, the major powers in the region and the United States. To view Conference Programme, click here.
