The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) at the National University of Singapore and World Scientific Publishing has published Lee Hsien Loong and Singapore. The book will be officially launched on 8 September 2026.
Lee Hsien Loong and Singapore, edited by Dr Gillian Koh, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Policy Studies; Ms Chua Mui Hoong, former Opinion Editor at The Straits Times; and Associate Professor Terence Ho, Associate Professor (Practice) at the Singapore University of Social Sciences brings together 23 essays by Singapore's leading thinkers and policy practitioners. The book examines the leadership and legacy of Mr Lee Hsien Loong who served as Singapore’s third Prime Minister from 2004 to 2024.
The 23 essays by Singaporean thought leaders, current and former public sector leaders analyse how Mr Lee and his government crafted policy and engaged stakeholders to anticipate as well as adapt to the significant shifts in the internal and external operating environment. They examine the impact of governance innovations over a range of areas — from foreign policy to economic strategy, social support frameworks, media, politics and key state institutions.
