On 30 April 1982, the United Nations adopted the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. Because of its enormous scope and complexity, the treaty took nine years to negotiate. Prof Tommy Koh served as the President of the Conference in its final year.
Forty years have passed since its adoption. In this talk, Prof Koh will explain the importance of the Convention to Singapore, ASEAN and the world.
