Elvin Xing is Research Fellow at IPS Social Lab. He has a PhD in Anthropology from the Australian National University, an MPhil in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge and a Masters in Anthropology from the University of Hyderabad.
His research expertise lies in qualitative method and ethnography. His research interest centres around identity politics and how political, cultural, and religious identities meld and diverge across different social and political contexts. HIs current projects spam from examining the role of public spaces in fostering integration to policy evaluation.
Prior to joining IPS , he worked as a Crime Analyst in the Singapore Police Force . He has over 10 years of experience in qualitative research methodology and data analysis. He has lived and conducted ethnographic fieldwork in rural and urban India.
