Janadas DEVAN, Director of the Institute of Policy Studies, was educated at the National University of Singapore and Cornell University in the United States. He was a journalist, writing for The Straits Times and broadcasting for Radio Singapore International before being appointed the Government’s Chief of Communications at the Ministry of Communications and Information (now the Ministry of Digital Development and Information, or MDDI) in 2012.
He relinquished his role as Government’s Chief of Communications in March 2023. He is currently Senior Advisor (Government Communications) of MDDI and the Prime Minister’s Office.
He was appointed Chairman of the Singapore International Foundation in April 2023.
