The Young Singaporeans Conference (YSC) is a biennial flagship event of IPS. To read more about the YSC series and previous conferences, click here.
This year’s 1.5-day Conference is themed “Disruptions”. It provides an opportunity for young Singaporeans to articulate their views on the various forms of disruptions we are experiencing today. In doing so, the Conference aims to document the voices, ideas and aspirations of youths today, and contribute to an exchange between youths and the wider society.
Participants can look forward to vibrant dialogues with fellow participants, facilitators, invited mentors and speakers. They will also collaborate in diverse teams to develop ideas and/or solutions on key issues identified as a team. These will be presented to all during the Conference, and documented through visual representations of conference proceedings.
This year, we will be selecting a number of participants for the Conference via an Open Call. To express your interest in participating in YSC 2018, please make a creative submission in any of the following categories on the topic of “Disruptions” in the areas of work, family and culture, which the conference will be based on:
- Any form of written work of no more than 1500 words
- A video of no longer than 5 minutes taken in landscape mode
- A photo essay of 6 to 15 photos with no more than 200 words per caption
The deadline for submission is Friday, 5 October 2018. Please send your submissions to Ms Nur Zahidah via email: decb64_aXBzLnlzY0BudXMuZWR1LnNn_decb64 along with the completed Personal Information Form, which can be downloaded here.
Please note that only Singaporean citizens aged 18 to 35 are eligible to be selected for the Conference.
In order to ensure diverse representation at the conference, the organisers reserve the right to select candidates for participation. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
