Executive education

In line with IES' three key audiences, the following training and executive education approaches have been identified where IES can best fulfil a capacity building need:

"Southeast Asia to Global" Elevation

Developing capacity within Southeast Asia with which to better shape and integrate Southeast Asian voices in global processes and policy initiatives. We appreciate the unique challenges and opportunities that Southeast Asia faces and aim to equip Southeast Asia policymakers and government leaders to integrate policy design with technology innovation to accelerate decarbonisation, biodiversity and just transition. Southeast Asia is diverse, and we embrace this diversity in our approach, taking into account the region's local customs, cultures, societal norms and ecosystems for impact, effectiveness and durability.

"Global South to Global South" Capacity Building

Developing capabilities within our own region in order to strengthen policy designs and implementations for better outcomes. Global South countries often face similar challenges such as limited resources, technology, and expertise. Our efforts will focus on enhancing the capacity of policymakers, institutions, and corporates in the Global South to formulate and implement effective climate policies. Through training, knowledge-sharing and networking, we aim to develop sustainable and context-specific policy design, strategies and implementation. Strengthening the policy design capacity in the Global South not only critical to accelerate sustainability but also will also contribute significantly to broader global efforts to combat climate change.
