Archi Rastogi, Ph.D., is currently at the Independent Evaluation Unit (IEU) of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), the world’s largest multilateral climate fund. Archi has worked at the interface of science and decision-making, and primarily through policy evaluations. He began his career at a grassroots non-profit, and has since worked in the media, the UN, management consulting, and multilateral organizations, besides the academia. He has undertaken more than 20 evaluations, to advise the World Bank, UN bodies, foundations, governments, development agencies, and research agencies. These evaluations are directed to provide evidence to decision-makers. At the GCF, he is a task lead for the development of the evaluation policy for the institution, providing a clear space for the use of evidence in policy making. 


His research has variably looked into the social factors affecting effectiveness of policies and programmes for sustainable development. His current research interests include the development of multilateral institutions, effectiveness of climate finance, and the role of value systems in decision-making. He is a member of the editorial board for Society and Natural Resources, and has served on the Intergovernmental Panel on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services.
