Chew Zhe Lin is a Research Analyst at the Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI), Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. He holds an MSc in Economics from Singapore Management University and a B.A. from the University of Western Australia.

At ACI, Zhe Lin works on economic research related to ASEAN, with Malaysia and Singapore as specific focuses. His work involves policy-oriented research projects on industrial development in Malaysia and Singapore, while working closely with other colleagues in ACI to produce policy briefs, presentations, and working papers.

Zhe Lin’s interest mainly lies in policy-based research, especially regarding how economic and policymaking intertwine. Topics in which Zhe Lin is interested include regional trade, FDI, industrial policy, transition economy, middle-income traps, and political economy. However, Zhe Lin does not mind working on other topics that are not familiar to him, as he believes that there are many more socioeconomic topics waiting to be explored and learned about.
