With 1.37 million migrant workers, Singapore is a city-state built on the labour of people who have come from afar to work. Even before arriving here, migrant workers face a myriad of challenges, which can continue through to their next work destination. In order to find sustainable solutions to the problems that beset migrant workers, we must first understand their journeys and the landscape within which they live and work. Drawing insights from champions of the migrant community, we will explore issues of finance, health and education, and how they intersect to shape the social space migrant workers inhabit.
