Despite the high rate of urbanisation and the enactment of racial integration measures in public housing, spatial inequality exists in Singapore. The session will begin by reviewing basic patterns of spatial inequality in income and health. Then, it will discuss the possible reasons for the persistence of these patterns and offer policy recommendations. Understanding the geography of inequality is essential to maintaining an equitable trajectory of economic and social development.
