Seminar by Dr Arthur Brooks, President of the American Enterprise Institute (AEI)

In the last few decades, one of the great humanitarian miracles in human history has been quietly taking place. The global spread of free enterprise has empowered billions of people to escape abject poverty and build their own lives. But today, across the world, distraction and disagreement threaten the intellectual and moral consensus that made all this possible. How can we remember the true purpose of wealth and rediscover the moral core of capitalism? How can we ensure that billions more can enjoy the fruits of free enterprise?

Dr Brooks will discuss these issues in his speech entitled “A World Without Poverty”. The seminar will be moderated by Professor Tommy Koh, Special Adviser at IPS and Ambassador-at-Large at Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
