Enhancing Liveability of Singapore: Data and Analytics Platforms for Cities of Tomorrow

As one of the most densely populated cities in the world, Singapore faces unique challenges related to urbanization, sustainability, and quality of life. There is a continuous whole-of-government effort to enhance the livability of Singapore. This session explores how a decade of public service innovations in sophisticated planning tools and advancements in computational urban science has laid the foundations for developing data and analytic tools to catalyze liveability and foster sustainable urban development in Singapore. Harnessing the power of advanced technologies such as 3D geospatial visualization and high-resolution, multi-dimensional data of people, spaces, and the environment, the next-generation urban data and analytic platforms, or urban observatories, represent a paradigm shift for urban data analytics. It empowers policymakers, planners, and researchers with deeper insights into urban dynamics, emerging trends, and the capacity to anticipate future challenges.
