On 31 August 2022, Asia Competitiveness Institute Director Professor Paul Cheung had a breakfast meeting with Dr Wahyu Utomo, the Deputy Minister for Regional Development and Spatial Planning Coordination from Indonesia Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (CMEA). Dr Wahyu was accompanied by Ms Kartika Listriana, the Deputy Assistant for Strengthening Regional Competitiveness and three other staffs for Strengthening Regional Competitiveness.
Professor Cheung reaffirmed the institute's commitment to supporting CMEA's work in regional development studies. Dr Wahyu and Professor Cheung discussed potential research collaborations and support in ASEAN Chairmanship in 2023, energy transition, regional connectivity and provincial analyses on Riau Islands and East Kalimantan.
