ACI warmly congratulates Professor Paul Cheung, Director of ACI, on being awarded the 2024 Distinguished Arts and Social Sciences Alumni Award. Professor Cheung joined NUS as a teaching staff after obtaining his PhD from the University of Michigan. He was later seconded to the Singapore Government as the Director of the Population Planning Unit and the Chief Statistician of Singapore. He later joined the United Nations as its Chief Statisician. He re-joined NUS as a Professor (Practice) in 2013.
