Lunch Dialogue with Madam Halimah Yacob

Good governance is paramount in the conduct of parliamentary business as it acts as the critical and inquisitorial voice that checks on the actions of the Executive. Parliament is also where new laws are legislated, state finances are controlled and accountability of the government is maintained.

Do different views have a place in Parliament? What are the factors considered when Parliament deliberates and debates over new policy bills? How does Parliament represent and balance the interests of Singaporeans, as well as Singapore businesses? Are there opportunities for greater collaboration between the government, unions and businesses to optimise productivity and enhance the work experience in Singapore?

A strong advocate for tripartite relations, Madam Halimah Yacob will share with IPS’ Corporate Associates her insights as the Speaker of Parliament in facilitating parliamentary debates on policies aimed at creating a conducive economic environment for businesses to thrive and Singaporeans to achieve their aspirations and dreams.
