LKYSPP Alumni Malaysia Chapter – Taman Tugu Trail Walk

LKYSPP Alumni Malaysia Chapter – Taman Tugu Trail Walk

The LKYSPP Alumni Malaysia Chapter successfully organised a Taman Tugu Trail walk. The session was specially designed to encourage Alumni and their family members to network and discuss current issues in a relaxed environment. The objectives for the visit are as follow:

  1. To promote healthy lifestyle amidst the hectic lifestyle of the alumni;
  2. To appreciate our forests and also to encourage the younger generations to preserve and love the green environment; and
  3. To network among alumni on current issues.

This activity was attended by 18 participants with 10 alumni and 8 family members of the alumni.

The walk started with an explanation on the preservation of the once abandoned site which is now restored to a 66 acre gem in the heart of Kuala Lumpur by a representative of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (the organisation that is leading the Taman Tugu Project).

There are more than 1,000 trees on site that have been identified for preservation and it will be home to approximately 1,000 species of flora and fauna indigeneous to Malaysia. The group was provided with two experienced guides who joined the walk and explained about the efforts taken to preserve the area and the tree species along the way.
