LKYSPP Alumni Europe Chapter 2018 Annual Gathering
LKYSPP Alumni Europe Chapter organised its first annual gathering in Berlin from 23 to 25 March 2018. Alumni from Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom, Georgia, Austria, and Germany came together in Berlin to get to know each other and chart the next path for the Chapter.
Highlights from the gathering include:
- Dinner reception hosted by the Singapore Embassy in Berlin. The reception featured a lecture by Prof. Dr. Eberhard Sandschneider from Free University (FU) Berlin on the topic of “The Irresistible Shift of Global Power from the West to the East - Does it exist and what role for the EU?”. In his lecture, Prof. Sandschneider discussed the causes and consequences of these developments. Singapore Ambassador H.E. Laurent Bay and a number of the Embassy staff joined the speaker and alumni in a lively discussion about the topic.
- Guided tour to the Berlin’s historical and government district. From the Brandenburg Gate and around the Pariser Platz, all the way to German Parliament, the tour helped alumni get a better understanding of German political history and development.
