The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Shanghai Alumni Chapter, organised a farewell party for Ong Siew Gay, the outgoing Singapore Consul-General in Shanghai on January 13, 2016, prior to his return to Singapore.
Chapter President Ji Xiao Ye, Vice Presidents Geng Jing and Zhu Jian Hao, council members, secretariat members and honorary council members took part in the farewell party.
Mr Ong worked in China for many years and was appointed the position of Singapore Consul-General in Shanghai in January 2012.
From his appointment till date, he participated actively in the activities and events organised by our school’s Alumni Chapter.
Under his guidance and promotion, the Alumni Chapter started many meaningful activities that fostered diplomatic relations on the ground. These activities improved the Sino-Singapore relationship and the Shanghai-Singapore collaboration, which benefited many organisations and individuals from both countries.
