Embracing Next-Generation Nuclear Technology for Energy Transition and Green Transformation in ASEAN

This panel delves into the pivotal role that next-generation nuclear technology can play in the energy transition and green transformation within ASEAN countries. The discussion will center on three interconnected topics:

1. Stable Base Load Low-Carbon Supply: The panel will explore the critical importance of nuclear power in providing a stable and reliable base load of low-carbon energy. This is essential for supporting the national power systems in ASEAN countries as they strive to reduce carbon emissions and meet growing energy demands.

2. Promising Characteristics of Next-Generation Nuclear Technology: The conversation will highlight the advanced features of next-generation nuclear technologies. These innovations could offer a sustainable and efficient source of power, aligning with the energy needs and environmental goals of ASEAN nations.

3. Hypothetical Deployment of Floating Nuclear Power Plants: The panel will also consider a hypothetical scenario involving the deployment of floating nuclear power plants in Vietnam. This innovative approach could address specific regional challenges, providing flexible and resilient energy solutions.
