Despite unprecedented improvements in income and social indicators during the last three quarters of a century, there is palpable global anxiety about the sustainability of economic and social progress. The International Panel on Social Progress was convened to assess and address these anxieties of our time. The report of the Panel, to which more than 300 leading social scientists have contributed, has just been published by Cambridge University Press. This event will introduce the work of the Panel and its Report, and spark a discussion on the global policy challenges of our time.
