The CAG Student Essay Competition is an initiative by the Centre on Asia and Globalisation (CAG) aimed at providing LKYSPP Master students the opportunity to explore a wider range of challenging questions beyond the school curriculum. It offers students the chance to showcase their knowledge and writing skills to a wider audience.
Eligibility
- Open to all current students of LKYSPP’s Master in Public Policy, Master in International Affairs, Master in Public Administration and Doctor of Philosophy programmes. Students in Double Degree programmes and exchange programmes are also eligible.
Theme

Essays must discuss a topical policy issue on Southeast Asia related to one of the three ASEAN Community pillars: (1) ASEAN Political-Security Community; (2) ASEAN Economic Community; and (3) ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community.

Submission Guidelines
- Must be an original work, written in a clear, succinct, and non-technical style
- References can be included via hyperlinks
- Word limit of 1,000 words
- Only single-authored essays will be accepted

- Winner to be announced by: 18 December 2024
