Barbora Valockova is Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre on Asia and Globalisation, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. She researches international relations of Southeast Asia. Specifically, she is interested in the interface between domestic politics and security policies, and the application of hedging frameworks and political psychology. Barbora is in the process of obtaining her PhD in Public Policy and Global Affairs from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Her PhD dissertation examines European foreign economic policies towards China from a prospect theory perspective, and she has also published on ASEAN’s centrality. Prior to her PhD, Barbora worked as an infrastructure investment analyst in Singapore covering Asia and a trainee at the European Commission. She received a master’s degree in economic law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Sciences Po Paris.
