Mr Ng is Chief Executive Officer, International Business, and Chief Corporate Officer at Singapore Institute of Management, where he oversees the organisation's overseas growth strategy and the expansion of its international partnerships, alongside its corporate functions. 

He retired from the Singapore Armed Forces as a Brigadier-General, having led strategic futures, geopolitical strategy and long-term planning at the Ministry of Defence. He served as a Commissioner on the Global Commission on Responsible Artificial Intelligence in the Military Domain, and is a member of the Roundtable for AI, Security and Ethics convened by UNIDIR. As an Eisenhower Fellow, he developed an executive course on ethical decision-making, which he has taught at the Singapore Civil Service College and for an international non-governmental organisation.

Mr Ng holds an MA in International Relations and a BA in Economics from the University of Chicago; a BA in Translation and Interpretation (Chinese and English) from the Singapore University of Social Sciences; a master's in historical, philological and religious sciences from the École Pratique des Hautes Études; and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he was a Sloan Fellow. He attended the École de Guerre in Paris and the Indonesian Armed Forces Command and Staff College in Bandung.
