YAP, Jia Hui

Research Assistant

Yap Jia Hui is a Research Assistant in the Governance and Economy department at the Institute of Policy Studies. She works on policy issues relating to taxation and is interested in the principles as well as social and political impacts of different forms of tax. 

Prior to joining IPS in 2022, Jia Hui completed her MSc in Philosophy and Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The main focus of her studies was public health policies and specific issues related to quality of life, cost-benefit-analysis of healthcare policies, and issues of marginal personhood.  

Whilst studying, Jia Hui was also a temporary Research Assistant at IPS’ Social Lab. She worked on policy research related to immigration, race and religion, and issues of trust in governance.


Research Interests
Social equity in economic and political policies, measurement and trade-offs thereof; economic history and contemporary relevance; public health policies pertaining to right to life.
