Pei Gao is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Yale-NUS College and holds a concurrent courtesy appointment at the National University of Singapore. Her research interests span the fields of development economics and economic history. Through her research, she aims to generate empirically-grounded evidence to understand the historical roots of economic development and provide valuable insights to understand broader development and governance issues. Before joining Yale-NUS College, Gao was an Assistant Professor of Economics at NYU-Shanghai and Global Network Assistant Professor at NYU. She obtained her PhD and MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
