Senior military officers begin EDP training

THIRTY individuals comprising 26 senior military officers from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), one senior officer from the Ministry of Defence (MinDef), two senior officers from the Prime Minister’s Office and one officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) are taking part in the 14th Executive Development Programme (EDP) for senior officials.

The programme, officially opened in a ceremony at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies of the MinDef yesterday, was organised by the MinDef, Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. It is held from September 3 to November 30.

In his opening remarks at the EDP launch, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence Captain (Rtd) Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar highlighted that besides being an important component of the RBAF personnel’s professional development, the EDP is one of the cornerstones of Brunei’s military contributing towards achieving the Brunei Vision 2035 aspiration for a well-educated, highly skilled and accomplished people.
