Congratulations to LKYSPP Asst Prof Adam Liu and his Co-PIs Associate Professors Xiaojun Li (UBC) and Songying Fang (Rice University) on their recently published paper “Unpacking “the West”: Divergence and Asymmetry in Chinese Public Attitudes Towards Europe and the United States” that is already gaining wide traction with the media— South China Morning Post (Hong Kong), Deutscher Welle (Germany), Politiken (Denmark), Le Grand Continent (France), PIME AsiaNews (Vatican), Huanqiu (mainland China), Central News Agency of Taiwan, The News Lens (Taiwan), China Press (Malaysia) 

They conducted a two-wave survey in China that provides new findings on the great divergence and asymmetries in Chinese perceptions towards the West. Recent public opinion polls conducted in Europe and the United States show increasingly negative views of China.
