The Asia in the World Economy Roundtable was held at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in Singapore on 29th-30th November 2018, in association with the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth.
The Roundtable is a high-level forum discussing Asia in the global economy, bringing together academic experts and other policymakers from both Asia and the West.
The event involves a series of closed-door roundtable discussions for around 50 participants, followed by a public panel at the Lee Kuan Yew School, revolving around critical contemporary policy issues and economic developments. 2018 marked the second occasion on which to the Roundtable has been held, and our intention is to make this an annual event, involving an exclusive network of scholars, policymakers and business leaders.
The most recent Roundtable's theme was “Growth and Inclusion in Asia”, reflecting our partnership with the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth. However, the Roundtable’s discussions ranged widely, covering everything from the ongoing United States (US)-China trade war to the future of economic governance in Asia and globally.
