The Sino-Singapore Alumni Forum was held on the 22nd of August, at Sheraton Shanghai Pudong Hotel & Residences. The theme of this forum was “Reconnecting for a Brighter Future”.
Together with the Shanghai alumni chapters from other NUS faculties, namely, Business, Law and Engineering, the LKY School Shanghai Alumni Chapter rallied our alumni and actively participated in this forum. Schools such as Nanyang Technological University were also involved, as were the alumni groups from other colleges and universities.
The event was hosted by Singapore’s Temasek Group and organised by Surbana Jurong Private Limited. Head of Temasek’s Investment Group, Co-Head of China and Co-Head of Credit Portfolio, Mr Chia Song Hwee, gave the opening address. Mr Li Bing, Mr Ge Peijian, and many other forum speakers spoke on topics such as Singapore-China business relations and collaborations in the next 25 years, Singapore’s participation in the next stage of China’s economic growth and development, globalisation and development of talents, etc.
Mr Liew Mun Leong, Provost Chair Professor (Practice) in National University of Singapore, and Chairman of Changi Airport Group and Surbana Jurong Private Limited, made the closing address. Associate Professor Tan Khee Giap, Co-Director of the Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI), Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, was one of the panel moderators.
