The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) Singapore Futures will be organising our annual Singapore Futures Youth Competition and invites you to become a participant.

This year’s competition theme is “Re-imagining Opportunities, Work and Education in Singapore". Over the course of the competition, the participants will learn and apply futures thinking and foresight to develop scenarios on the potential career and education opportunities in Singapore and how they can play a part in driving change to realise their dreams and aspirations.

The Singapore Futures Youth Competition 2024 is a 4-day in-person event, from the 18th to the 21st of June. The competition will begin with a 2-day futures thinking workshop run by the LKYSPP faculty. You will learn the necessary tools and framework to build scenarios and present them to esteemed leaders from the public and private sectors in the preliminary and final rounds of the competition.

Throughout this competition, you will be introduced to public policy challenges, futures thinking, and the complexities of the policymaking process. You will also have the opportunities to interact with your peers from an array of educational institutes, as well as network with leaders from public and private sectors. This competition will be held in person at the National University of Singapore. Participants will have the chance to win prizes worth up to $5,000, receive a certificate of participation, and receive opportunities to join LKYSPP’s network.

Students who are currently enrolled in any post-secondary/pre-tertiary educational institutions in Singapore are eligible to sign up. Interested students are required to sign up individually in the link below by the 31st of March 2024. The selection process will be conducted on an individual basis based on the short essay as part of the registration form. Successful participants will be notified via email by the 17th of May 2024.
