NUS Day of Service 2019

The NUS community comes together every year to do good on NUS Day of Service (DOS).

The fourth NUS Day of Service held on last Saturday, 7 September 2019 garnered greater support from our LKYSPP alumni all over the world.

It has gone from strength to strength over the years and six of our alumni chapters [up from four in 2018] this year have rolled up their sleeves and carried out various activities worldwide such as cleaning the city, exhibition of arts discussing aesthetic education of children, food and books distribution, interaction and cooking with foreign workers respectively.

Check out some of the activities in action that took place in Singapore and overseas here.

SINGAPORE CHAPTER – Interaction and Cooking with Foreign Workers.

55 LKYSPP students and alumni visited the Madai Westlite Dormitory labour camp to interact with a group of foreign workers from India and Sri Lanka. They played football, basketball and badminton together. They taught the foreign workers to write Chinese calligraphy such as "Home" and "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival". The foreign workers were encouraged to translate the words into English at the back of the paper to send it to their family as souvenirs. The volunteers even cooked a delicious dinner for the workers.
