LKYSPP Alumni Shanghai Chapter’s Executive Committee Meeting 2018
On 28 December 2018, the executive committee of LKYSPP Shanghai Alumni Chapter held a meeting to review the performance of the Alumni in 2018 and to discuss new year plans for 2019. President JI Xiaoye chaired the meeting. Vice President GENG Jing, and LIU Genfa, Committee Member CHEN Haitao, Honorary Committee Member and Secretaries attended the meeting.
In 2018, LKYSPP Shanghai Alumni Chapter has taken every effort to fulfill its commitment, kept alumni connected and engaged, and increased impact on society. First, strengthened alumni cohesion. The Chapter convened a meeting at the beginning of the year to discuss working plans; organized a Thank You & Welcome Meeting, to welcome new alumni and express gratitude for kind support from the society; Second, strengthened ties with alma mater. Collaborated with other NUS alumni chapters, the Chapter organized the Blockchain Trends and Prospects Forum and "a Date with NUS President" alumni meetup with Professor Tan Eng Chye; went to Beijng to attend the forum organized by NUS; and hosted welcome party in honor of professors of NUS. Third, strengthened interaction with Singapore organizations in Shanghai. The Chapter has been invited to various events including inauguration ceremony of Shanghai Singapore Business Association (SSBA), National Day Party organized by SSBA, National Day Reception organized by Singapore Consulate General in Shanghai, former Minister for Foreign Affairs George Yeo's book launch, and Singapore Speakers Series featuring Mr Edmund Cheng, Deputy Chairman and Deputy Managing Director of Singapore Wing Tai Holdings Limited. Fourth, strengthened communication with Shanghai Oversea Returned Scholars Association (SORSA). The Chapter delegation headed by President attended JI Xiaoye attended the 10th SORSA Members’ Congress. The Chapter also attended the recap meetings of SORSA Research Center and Public Diplomacy programs. In recognition of their exceptional contributions, GENG Jing and CHEN Haitao were awarded by Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy honorable mention of Outstanding Alumni Award and Alumni Service Award respectively.
In 2019, LKYSPP Alumni Shanghai Chapter will continue to strengthen ties with alma mater, to play an even active role as a Friendship Ambassador of Sino-Singapore relationship, to enhance cooperation with brother chapters, and to better serve the alumni.
